Specifications.

These books measure 9" x 12" to accommodate a full 8 1/2" x 11" piece of paper. They are all made of genuine heavy cowhide leather. The lettering on some books are permanently embossed and every book is stained in a rich dark antique brown, and the inside is lined with brown felt. The front locking and side ties are made using genuine deerskin laces that are completely adjustable to fit more paper (up to 600 pages), or whatever you chose to add. Those with designs on the front, binder and back, are made by burning the design in - also for permanence. Depending on the book, many have hard to find silver or brass toned corners/ornaments adhered to them creating a unique and often one of a kind magical tool.

Authenticity

This book is made to last more than a lifetime, and comes with a parchment embossed certificate of authenticity. There will be a customer number for further discounted orders.

A Note about our Parchment Quality

I only use 24 lb Gold antiqued parchment paper; this is made with linen (not animal skin), and is of the best quality natural fiber parchment available and has a wonderful transparency that can be seen through a candles flame. The texture is very satiny and has a very unique silky feel about it, and infuses well with herbs and is very receptive to much type of inks and glues.

Starter Pages.

You can request that I begin the pages with DURABrite Inks. These inks are bold in colour and jet black in gradient; they offer excellent archival qualities and are waterproof for over 80 years.
